Hi, I'm Kyle
I’ve been very connected to nature from a very young age, growing up in the rural area of Western, NY where I played in fields, woods and creeks. As I grew older and became busy (and stressed) with adult life and corporate responsibilities, I gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of nature to help us stay balanced, healthy and vibrant in the modern world.
As I searched for still deeper meaning, I found myself learning and practicing shamanism for four years where I was forever transformed with a deep reverence for mother earth and the indigenous wisdom keepers who live in harmony with her and all her flora and fauna.
Interested in combining the wisdom I gained from shamanism with modern science, I enrolled in Applied Ecopsychology classes, and wrote a thirty-page thesis asserting that instilling ecopsychology based nature connection activities in our schools could promote greater mental and physical health as well as a more harmonious relationship with the earth. I was encouraged by the professors to get this published.
However, before I had a chance, my work as a financial systems manager brought me the opportunity to move with my family to Hong Kong and then to Melbourne, Australia, where I was a project lead for the implementation of financial systems in the Asian subsidiaries of a global 500 company.
Near the end of my time in Hong Kong in 2009, I received as a birthday gift my first “real” camera, a Canon G10. Although it was a small camera with a sensor only the size of a dime, the incredible resolution and wide-angle lens quickly made me a photography addict.
In Australia, surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, I developed my landscape photography skills. Some of the pictures created during this time are still some of my favorites.
After my move back to the Western New York area, I upgraded my camera and lenses and started expanding my skills to birds and other wildlife.
After fourteen years of honing my craft, I’ve realized that my gift to the world is capturing moments in my unique style to celebrate others who strive to create something meaningful in our world while bringing us closer to each other, to nature and ultimately, to our divine source
